I studied fashion & textiles (BA Hons/M.A).

Making jewellery from vintage & contemporary buttons & braids, I aim to create

‘wearable heirlooms’ as a visual expression for the wearer.

The resonance contained within something as everyday as a vintage button is like a secret story.

My part is just one step in it’s creative journey. Whilst I know a little about button history,

I prefer to work with them in an intuitive way, responding to their visual

& tactile qualities as I create a new piece of work.

Sourcing the buttons is a creative act for me & I am always open to donations or

using treasured hand-me-downs in a commissioned piece.

My love of colour & images is explored in the buttons I cover myself, & also reflected in my card designs,

mostly exploring nature as a starting point & the thread of connection that I encounter within it.

However I am a creative magpie and will draw inspiration from anything that speaks to me!
